Radio Modem Products

RF DataTech manufactures a comprehensive range of radio modem products designed to meet demanding international standards.

They are ideal for point-to-point wireless data links or point-to-multipoint applications such as alarm systems, scanning telemetry or SCADA systems.

VHF (138MHz - 225MHz), UHF (406MHz - 512MHz) and 869MHz (868MHz - 870MHz) models are available with a choice of transmit powers.

The low power radios meet the licence-exempt ETSI EN 300-220 specification for use throughout Europe while the higher power 5W versions meet the tougher European EN 300-113 requirements and the equivalent USA (FCC) and Canadian (IC) specifications.

The over-air data rate can be set to a range of values between 150bps and 9600bps in a 12.5kHz channel and there is an internal buffer to cope with situations where the serial interface baud rate is set higher than the selected over-air rate. If high speeds are not required, the modem can be programmed to a slower over-air rate to take advantage of the associated improvement in receiver threshold.

At lower data speeds (1200bps and below) the radios can be configured to use either Bell 202 or V.23 tone sets for compatibility with existing equipment.

Careful attention to intermodulation performance, spurious response, adjacent channel and blocking performance, makes the product ideal for crowded telemetry radio channels.

Our Windows based configuration software WinA4P allows all the radio settings to be programmed by the user.
